- create open–room concept floor plan
- allow for family interaction by connecting indoor and outdoor spaces
design solutions:
- removed all walls on main floor except for powder room
- cut open floor and dropped living room to lower (basement) level
- created light and curb appeal with oversized 2 storey window
- expanded kitchen and created large outdoor deck connected to family room, overtop of new 2–car garage
- built top floor walk–in shower into eave creating sense of space; full-height area for showering;
- connected bathroom and office with built–in custom cabinetry;
- created bedroom at rear with large dormer; small dormer created office space
- matched main floor wood flooring in master bedroom and office creating continuity
- built storage into eaves; closets in bedroom; storage off bathroom
