- required Board of Variance approval for the addition of a third floor artist space to this heritage home – presented and approved
- focus on designing an addition which maintained and enhanced the character of this heritage quality home
design solutions:
- incorporated "wedding cake" style into design wherein 3rd floor footprint is smaller than 2nd floor
- provided flood of natural light with skylights and dormers on south facing wall
- allowed plenty of "artist" space for canvasses with large open room
