vision & challenges:
  • update and emphasize art–deco elements on exterior and interior of house
  • improve energy efficiency – entire house required retro-fitting with external air tight barrier;
design solutions:
  • created art deco elements on exterior with 3 step profile fascia extending around house; bullet window, circular patterned walkway, chevron patterned stained glass in front door and complementing surround in interlocking squares
  • continued theme in interior with 3 step archway details, woodwork, reclaimed light fixtures, curved wall elements, sunburst mirror, raised circular motif on custom doors
  • featured mosaic onyx tiles with inset black accents in entry, main bath floors
  • retro–fit existing banister to meet code
