vision & challenges:
- update 1970's house finishes
design solutions:
- doubled the usable space without increasing its footprint by removing walls in the dysfunctional kitchen
- used full–height, solid–wood cabinetry in quarter–sawn oak and cork flooring in kitchen as environmentally responsible materials
- opened master bedroom space to the new private deck and lush garden view
- created a Zen–like feel to the master ensuite with slate walls, pebbled shower flooring and new skylight
- completed renovation with energy enhancements to heating and hot water systems, windows and appliances; attention to green" products; high-tech, whole-house, smart wiring for lighting and audio control
