vision & challenges:
- fabulous space and location but the finishes were definitely uninspired
design solutions:
- introduced rich wood cladding details creating symmetry with pillars in the living/dining room
- created a level of sophistication and elegance for entire space with oversized valances that balance with new baseboards, window sills, custom doors and trim
- added two large drop ceiling panels with integrated down-lighting and ambient, reflective up–lighting surrounding each panel
- added a floating beam element at the intersection of the drop ceiling and wall with integrated ambient lighting creating continuity from dining room to master bedroom
- transformed decks from plain to spectacular with rich black soapstone; roof-top patio features calming waterfall; L–shaped pond with integrated fire-strip accented by the prominent pergola creates multiple levels and functional areas
