vision & challenges:
- create a complete medical office in a small space including examination rooms, bathroom, office, reception desk and waiting area
design solutions:
- laid out space - taking the cue from a honeycomb -utilizing angles to reduce ineffective space in each room;
- minimized area for hallways while simultaneously creating the feeling of a larger overall space by breaking site-lines so that one cannot see from the front to rear of space; this also provides some privacy in the examination room/bathroom connections
- created a striking ambience not normally associated with medical offices by using strong colour tones and a long carved wood wall feature
